Frequently asked

Moodle Workplace questions

How is it different from Moodle LMS?

Moodle Workplace was developed for the corporate sector, with extra functionality focused on training and onboarding. It's built on the open-source Moodle LMS but is licensed software, available only via Premium Partners — it can't be downloaded without one.

Is Moodle Workplace open source?

No — it's licensed software available only via Certified Service Providers. While not open source, it offers all of Moodle LMS's best features with added flexibility in integrations and branding.

Can we transfer our existing Moodle site?

Moodle LMS can be upgraded to Moodle Workplace, provided the LMS version is not higher than the Workplace version.

How does multi-tenancy branding work?

A single app serves all tenants under a common name with a neutral login page; once users log in, they see their own tenant's styles. Note that mobile-specific site configurations apply across all tenants.
