Challenges, woven into outcomes.
We specialize in crafting innovative solutions tailored for the education sector, leveraging the power of open-source technology — our core advocacy. Explore how Nephila Web Technology transforms challenges into opportunities.
TESDA Online Program
TESDA partnered with Nephila in 2021. We migrated their Moodle LMS to a server infrastructure we designed to smoothly accommodate around 1 million users and thousands of concurrent users at the same time — today around 3 million registered users. The migration and upgrade to the latest Moodle version succeeded after multiple testing phases.
Philippine Science High School System
At the height of the pandemic in 2020, PSHS — with 16 campuses nationwide — implemented an online platform called Knowledge Hub (KHub) on Moodle LMS to deliver learning content to students safely in their homes.
Philippine Obstetrical & Gynecological Society
RISE 2021 was conducted on Moodle LMS with Safe Exam Browser, with the Nephila team providing technical support and facilitation through mock schedules and the actual exam. We provided a server setup optimized for 1,108 concurrent users and around 800 concurrent submissions — highly server-intensive, validated through multiple mock tests.
Central Bicol State University of Agriculture
CBSUA operates one Moodle LMS across four campuses in the Bicol Region — the Virtual Learning Portal, with 23,601 registered users. Previously self-hosted and self-managed, they consulted Nephila Web and migrated the VLP to our cloud server to resolve issues faced by users and admins alike.
Norwegian Training Center
NTC is the preferred maritime and offshore simulator training partner for the global shipping community — the first maritime training center in the world certified by Det Norske Veritas. In 2020, NTC moved its courses to an online platform, choosing Moodle LMS and Nephila Web as their provider.
Philippine Competition Commission
PCC pursues advocacy and capacity-building programs to raise awareness of the Philippine Competition Act and improve enforcement. In July 2021, PCC partnered with Nephila to establish its on-demand program — the iCLP: Online Learning Hub on Competition Law and Policy.
Mariano Marcos State University
MMSU has a long history of running Moodle on its own on-premise servers. As their student population grew, they faced challenges increasing server and storage resources, and sought Nephila's help to provide solutions and scale.
The Asia Foundation
The Asia Foundation is a non-profit providing Human Rights training to its stakeholders. Their Moodle platform — and all its courses — were previously hosted and developed by a different provider before moving to Nephila Web.
Southwestern University PHINMA
Southwestern University PHINMA, a reputable leader in medicine and allied health programs under PHINMA Education, partnered with Nephila Web to establish their Moodle LMS with integrated Examus–Alemira online proctoring.
